La belleza tiene muchas formas de manifestarse, los cánones tradicionales de la sociedad occidental dictan que la mujer privilegiada tiene que cumplir con algunas medidas, con cierto tipo de piel y color de cabello.

Este tipo de regla ha hecho que se les de menos valor a algunas mujeres por no cumplir esa expectativa como el hecho de no tener unas piernas largas, una cintura estrecha y un color de ojos específico.

Las mujeres que tienen un rasgo característico como el color oscuro en la piel o facciones gruesas son lo contrario a lo que la mayoría tiene determinado como belleza. Mucho más, alguna chica con alguna condición genética como albinismo o alguna discapacidad. Y entonces pensemos, cómo son vistas las mujeres de Corea del norte, de Somalia o una chica indígena, las maneras de ver la belleza pueden ser múltiples, de acuerdo a los contextos y a los lugares.

Muchas chicas han sido marginadas y discriminadas por tener una piel muy oscura o un cabello extremadamente rizado porque las personas no aceptan lo genuino y lo “raro” como bello, pero estos parámetros únicamente hacen que la gente no vea la verdadera belleza.

Esto era lo que pensaba una fotógrafa llamada Mihaela Noroc, quien por varios años, se ha dado a la tarea de buscar la belleza original, los rasgos auténticos de las mujeres en más de 30 países y comunidades y es en lo cotidiano o marginal donde ha descubierto la esencia de muchas bellas chicas.
