Fue el 2 de octubre que finalmente su pequeña llegó al mundo y esto causó una alegría inmensa en la actriz, por lo que publicó las fotografías de sus primeros días de vida, un momento muy trascendente para ella.
Rani Rose Hidson Fijikawa es el nombre de la primera hija de la actriz, Rani es en honor a el abuelo de la pequeña por parte de su padre, Ron Fujikawa y Rose obviamente por la flor. Kate escogió este nombre desde mucho antes que la hermosa niña llegara al mundo.
